As part of our ongoing commitment to providing secure, reliable, and modern digital services, Digital Services will be upgrading eligible university staff devices from Windows 10 to Windows 11 over the coming months.
This upgrade forms part of our long-term technology roadmap, ensuring staff continue to benefit from a secure, supported, and high-performing computing environment.
Microsoft ended mainstream support for Windows 10 on 14 October 2025. While the University has invested in Microsoft’s Extended Security Updates (ESU) programme to continue protecting Windows 10 devices during our transition period, this is a temporary measure.

The upgrade is a planned improvement, and your current Windows 10 device remains protected through our Extended Security Updates programme until it is upgraded.
