Our Skills programme is designed to create opportunities for you to develop your transferable academic and information skills, improving both your academic success and employability. The curriculum covers a wide range of topics – from finding library resources to fake news to managing your online presence.
Your lecturers will organise for you to have an in-class session during your studies; however, our team of Academic Liaison Librarians have also developed a series of online units that allow you to develop your skills anywhere, anytime, to suit you.
For further support you can book an appointment or email us at infoskills@uwtsd.ac.uk.

Finding and using information requires you to think about the kind of information you need, where to find it, and how to evaluate it.

This Unit helps you to understand why referencing is important and which of the 4 recognised referencing standards you should be using.

Introducing topics including Open Access Publishing and Research Data Management.

If you need some help, advice or a friendly bit of encouragement, you can book an appointment with a member of our team at a time to suit you.
