A Library at the Heart of the University
The Library and Learning Resources Collection Development Policy provides a framework for the management and development of our electronic and print collections.
Copyright provides legal protection for an author/creator of original work; this includes literary, artistic, dramatic and musical works, films, and sound recordings. If a work is copyrighted, then people cannot copy or adapt such materials without the permission of whoever owns the copyright, or by adhering to the relevant licences or legal exceptions. UWTSD is committed to acknowledging and protecting copyright, whether it is owned by the University, its employees, students, or third parties.
We aim to work collaboratively and in partnership with our customers to offer innovative and effective learning spaces, facilities and resources, both onsite and online. Our Customer Charter is founded upon our values and commitments, it summarises what you can expect from us.
The Library is grateful for offers of donations but, in order to maintain a high quality, relevant collection, we regret that we cannot accept everything offered to us. Please check our Donations Policy for further details.
University Policy endorsed by Council welcomes efforts by and further encourages UWTSD’s researchers to make their work available online, free to the reader, as soon as possible after publication.
Library and Learning Resources is committed to working in partnership with colleagues in academic departments, to provide the best possible range of information resources, within budgetary constraints, to support them and their students.
We all produce information through our work activities. This information (or ‘records’) should be efficiently controlled from its creation and use to its disposal (in a practice known as records management).
All materials deposited within the UWTSD Repository are made available in accordance with publisher policies and/or with permission from rights holders.
