Digitisation Services

CLA Higher Education Licence

It may be possible under the CLA Higher Education Licence to scan extracts from books, journals, magazines, conference proceedings and law reports published in the United Kingdom and some overseas countries.

In order to comply with the Licence, the provision of scanned course materials must be carried out by certain Library staff, who are the designated persons to undertake the scanning.

These designated persons will undertake relevant copyright checks as well as ensuring that correct copyright declarations are displayed with the scanned material.  Please note that original material in print form must be owned by the University and that scanned material can only be made available through Moodle to students studying a particular module.

Questions and Answers

Digital copies must be prepared or authorised by a ‘Designated Person’ within the Library and Learning Resources Service. If you have any questions or would like further information about this service which is administered by the Library, please contact: Digitisation@uwtsd.ac.uk.
